Westminster CO Single I'm still working part time and need to live within my budget. So far, that hasn't happened, thus I'm still at it. The part time job is very flexible and it's fun. Was married/divorced twice..."the first 2 husbands were just practice." I live with my three rescue dogs: Chuy, Petey and Eddie and a parakeet named Bird-Bird. My sister still lives in Wheat Ridge. I've been a Volunteer Victim Advocate for the Westminster Police Department for over 17 years. I volunteer for the PD in many other capacities, i.e., Citizens on Patrol and the Westminster Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. I also volunteer for the Broomfield Food Bank and Safe Harbor Lab Rescue. In 2009, I bought an old truck and a new 5th wheel. I love to go camping in the mountains where I look for animals and fish...catch/release. I worked for 30+ years at Mountain Bell, US West, then retired from Quest when Joe Nacchio took over, before he ran it into the ground. I was fortunate to finally finish the degree I started at CSU/CU, at Regis University on the company's dime. I worked as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and had responsibility for several people in Iran...got them out just in time, way back when. Graduated from Regis University in 1994 with a BA in Human Resource Management. My first job was at Weiss Bakery on Carr when in high school...then on to the snack bar at the Wadsworth Drive-In. I've been fortunate to travel to many places. My favorites are the Czech Republic, Slovakia (where I found relatives), Poland (wandering around Cracow by myself for 5 days) and Russia. I can't wait to return. When Vikki Porter smuggled in the spiked watermelon to the Senior Picnic. I also loved being in drill team and going to all of the games and the barns. I also loved the bus rides home and singing "Honor to ol' WR High", timing it so we hit the bump in the parking lot at the right part in the song. Ditching school with Gary Hamilton and not getting caught until my mom found one of the notes where I had tried to copy her signature on my excuse. Spending time with Max Williams and Rusty West. Oh, where to start?? Returning to Slovakia and spending more time with my newly found relatives. A safari, seeing the Northern Lights, taking in the Sand Hill Crane migration, finding more bears in the wild, getting my basement and garage cleaned out. 2017-08-30 20:59:12

Committed Relationship Technically retired August 2016 from University of Southern California Annenberg School but have done consulting projects for school over last year. Currently wrapping up project training 20 Republic of Georgia news leaders in digital transformation. So really don't know what retirement is yet. Life Partner Diane and I have lived in La Quinta, CA (near Palm Springs) for more than 20 years with four dogs and 1 1/2 cats. Travel, food and wine. Outdoors including camping and hiking. Should be trying to do more writing but.... Spent 30 years as newspaper journalist, mostly management positions. Settled in Palm Springs as editor unitl 2000 when got an offere I couldn't refuse from USC Annenberg to run a grant funded journalism training program. Can't believe I spent 17 years doing something I would have paid to do. Until we are both retired, Diane and I only manage one big overseas trip a year. Best was 2012 genealogical trip to Czech Republic, tracing the roots and lives of my maternal great grandparents in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Most recent, trip to Republic of Georgia (a must do) for training project. Getting into the Summer of Love culture with fellow creative writing class friends. Being the "crowd" in "Becket." Flunking anything that had to do with physical coordination. Smuggling a spiked watermelon into Senior picnic. Learning to drive by going up the face of Lookout Mountain. Sending my homework to school with Kathy Jansen while I went to bed after pulling an all-nighter. Everything. 2017-08-30 19:15:41

Centennial CO Married 5 Still working and commuting everyday from SE Denver to Colorado Springs for the past 22 years. Two children from a previous marriage plus three step children and six step grandchildren from my current marriage to Lorraine (20 years). In order of preference: golf, fly fishing, bird hunting, road biking, wine with dinner, gin'n'tonic or gin martini before dinner, whiskey with an occasional cigar, downhill skiing, Denver Bronco fan (season ticket holder since 1977) and power hiking everyday in the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs during lunchtime plus the Manitou Springs Incline every Tuesday. Principal Engineer, remember the famous quote in the 1967 movie "The Graduate", I have been working in the "plastics" manufacturing industry for 46 years for both custom and proprietary plastics injection molding companies in Lakewood, Akron, Ohio (2 years), Boulder, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs. BS Mechanical Engineering and BS Business (Marketing) from the University of Colorado. Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado. No military duty due to high draft lottery number. Extensive travel to Malaysia, Singapore and Japan for business and many personal trips to Hawaii and European countries, especially Italy, since Lorraine is 100% Italian descent. Coach Stapp's grueling workouts during wrestling practice. Football practice tackling drills that knocked my head off. Baseball was my dream sport but Coach Proctor thought differently! So many memories that should remain forgotten but I do recall scattering when the police arrived at a "woodsy" in Golden Gate State Park, a "beer bottle littering citation" in Edgewater with a few of my fellow classmates while trying to crash a post game rally at Jefferson High and someone who will remain nameless that "pressed a ham" on the window at White Spot, just a few of the memories worth noting! Retirement, hopefully soon! 2017-08-23 18:09:54

Fruita CO Married 3 Still enjoying the outdoors and access to solitude in western Colorado and southeastern Utah. Trying to make the body last and continually compensating for past injuries and activities. Continually amazed at the changes since gas was 29 cents a gallon. Equally amazed at the resiliancy of my patients in just living and coping. Very thankful for all my good fortunes in family and place. The usual; skiing, camping, hiking, biking, fishing, seeing the kids, grandkids, border collies, good food and wine, dreaming about climbing and backpacking I used to do, NPR, spring bloom in the desert, and motoring in my VW BUS. Oh, and POWDER! family physician Many more than one, but those that I have not forgotten, I fear I have fabricated, or at least embellished substantially. Freddie shared with me he had to go to confession after we went skinny dipping with dates as seniors. {my future and current wife}.It was a foreign concept to me at the time. 2017-08-16 19:04:00

San Francisco CA Married 3 Living in one of the most beautifully strange cities in the world. Life experience, work and related interests make for busy and full days. We would be completely retired if we didn't live in this $$ city. Sam Pate and I met the day the first man walked on the moon. It was a giant step for mankind and for us. We have 3 grown ups and two grandchildren. We live two blocks away from the grandchildren and have placed a high value on being in their life not just while on vacation. I have a great deal of concern for the human family. The future only looks bright when I reflect on life's origin, purpose and future prospects as expounded upon in the Bible. After school, I worked at Villa National Bank in Villa Fontana until I figured out a few things out personally. I did not complete a degree before we started a family. I feel privileged to have been a stay at home mom until the kids were in school. Then I worked with Sam in our video system design and sales business. We exhibited at international trade shows and ended up designing two network broadcast facilities in the Sacramento area. That relocated us to the west coast. Then we wanted our kids to experience something in life other than the material and commercial life that had come along quite easily. We moved north of NYC where Sam designed a video facility for the Watch Tower Educational Center, as a volunteer. We scaled back and lived simpler life in that beautiful part of New York. That decision opened the door for similar endeavors overseas, in The Netherlands, Japan, Brazil and extensive travel. We've slowed down when it comes to travel but are still very involved remotely with the volunteer educational work of Jehovah's Witnesses. I wish I could more specific with names and events. I have very positive feelings and loved being with some of the same kids from 8th grade at the junior high through high school. I have a special fondness of being in debates with and against Rick Sewell and singing with Jack Cahill and Cindy Cooke, I'm not sure they continued on at the high school. Freddie Steinmark was always in my homeroom, perhaps it was alphabetical, but he always felt like a friend to me. My dad and I watched the games that Freddie and Bob played with relish. His illness made me an activist for a time. I have flirting memories with many like Bower Yousee, Cleve Hammond, Randy Choun and Kerry Hada. And uncontrollable laughter memories with Patty Jubrious, Polly Hoffner, Cindy Cooke and Jill Dunkley. Would love to have some input to refresh the details. Coming to the 50th reunion. Sadly, when I reviewed the classmates who have died, it really is sobering to think they are gone while I still feel so full of life and wonder. This life can't be all there is when a tree or a tortoise can live so much longer. Oh yes, the northern lights in Iceland and The Alaskan Wilderness. 2017-08-09 21:55:14
I haven't had much contact with any of my graduating class before getting in touch with the reunion planning group.  I quickly made a correction when I discovered that I was listed among the deceased.  And that turned up a few who contacted me.  I was thrilled to learn that Kerry Hada and Linda Wheeler are married.  And that Bower and Cleve remembered me.  I do hope it works out that Sam and I will be able to make a vacation trip to the Rockies and at least come for the picnic and school tour.  I'm trying to sell it as a family affair, to all our kids but not getting much traction. Sandy UT Married 7 First-Thank you all who have worked so hard on this 50th Reunion! Larry and I are retired, still living in Sandy, Utah and are thoroughly enjoying our kids and grand-kids! I married Larry Maloy in 1969. We had our first baby, and Larry went to Viet Nam. (Got a purple heart.) Moved to Utah about 35 years ago. Total-7 kids, and now have-yes-23 grands (biologic, adopted and step-grandkids!) Family activities with Larry, our children and their families are the greatest fun! Also have done a lot of genealogy over the years, and found great family stories (& a few skeletons!!) We are also Scout leaders in our area. I had a daycare business in my home for over 20 yrs., then worked at a Senior Cit. Center. Then worked part time as a Proctor for the U of U. Loving retirement & going on walks and hikes. To me, our best 2 trips were- a tour of Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, where many of our ancestors came from; and Thailand with its ethereal beauty. I loved being in the plays--especially "The Fantastiks"! Also LOVED the GREAT football & basketball games! AND our great BAND who played for all of them! Loved going with De Kroeckle & Cindy Burkholder to Central City to hear De's older brother play honkey-tonk in one of the "Saloons"! Ernie Eason faking out Mr. Manis in English when he actually didn't know the answer to a question! (Hard to believe-I know!) He'd give some convoluted answer and Mr. Manis would believe him! When I'd turn around shaking my head, he'd grin like the Cheshire Cat! Looking forward to this re-union since I couldn't come last time! See you there! 2017-08-05 17:10:22

Colorado Springs CO 2017-06-05 15:22:45

Sister Clare Carr, OSB

Sister Clare Carr’s scripture quotation, “See I am about to do a new thing” -Isaiah 43:19, reflects the sacred journey she underwent upon her selection as prioress elect for Benet Hill Monastery.  Her reverence for people and community is also reflected as she lives her vows of monastic life through following the Rule of St. Benedict.  Sister Clare says, “I believe in the call we all have to become creative and loving human beings- fully human and fully alive.”

Sister Clare began her vowed monastic life in 1974.  She is the oldest of five children and grew up in the Denver area from age eleven.  She received her Masters in Theological Studies from St. Meinrad’s School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana, and her Masters in Counseling from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.  She has worked at MDS Counseling Center— Maria Droste in Denver for the past ten years.  She loves people, listening to their life journey and the insightfulness and wisdom they share.  Much of Sister Clare’s gift is reverencing others as she journeys with them through pain, sorrow, loss, joy and new life.

The other “fun-loving side” to Sister Clare is conveyed in her red hair and bouncy personality.  She brings a sense of delight and humor to everyone she encounters and in everything she does.  A favorite with youth, she has served as youth director for parishes in the Lakewood/Denver area and Holy Trinity here in Colorado Springs.  Closer to home, she directed Benet Hill Center, the monastery’s vocations program and co-directed Benet Pines Retreat Center.  Never afraid to ask the tough, challenging questions, she has often been heard on the phone listening to a distraught counselee or helping someone in need find resources.

As she speaks about her love relationship with God, Sister Clare says it is “the most certain relationship in my life” and I found that this love relationship is to be lived out through the Rule of Benedict with this beautiful monastic community. Living obedience, poverty, chastity, stability and conversion of life” are ways of expressing her love relationship with God.  Sister Clare also nurtures herself through nature and gardening—seeing the “beauty that surrounds us in creation.”  She loves to hike and used to run thirty miles per week.

Sister Clare was installed as Prioress, June 2011, “I know my plans for you; they are plans for peace and not disaster, to give you a future with hope.” As current prioress, Sister Clare focuses on supporting and implementing the Direction Statements of the community.  She does this in conjunction with the monastic council as they look to fulfilling their dreams as community.  Sister Clare will plan for increased housing for the sisters and sustainability in all areas.  She also hopes to work with the community as they pursue ongoing vocation and formation work to increase membership in the community.  She has a vision of new vowed membership and other creative forms of membership.  She will reach out to younger populations and involve them more in understanding the call to monastic life.  We promise to pray for all your concerns and intentions, especially in this time and history we all share.

Boulder CO Married 3 I've been in Boulder for a long time. I met my husband in the dorm in 1967 and we are celebrating our 45th in August. We have 3 kids, ages 35, 30 & 27. We owned a printing company for 20 years in Boulder and after we sold it, I went back to CU to (finally) get my degree. I finished with a business major and got my masters in tax. I've been a CPA specializing in small business & tax preparation for 19 years and I work for myself. My husband and daughter work for our business too. Son & daughter live in Denver, our youngest daughter lives in Boulder married to a great guy from New Zealand - she is back at CU getting her masters in tax and studying for CPA exam. She works for me part time. No grandchildren yet. We enjoy our kids and like to go to Cape Cod (Massachusetts) and we enjoy lots that Boulder has to offer. Love going to Rockies games and of course love the Broncos. CPA - late bloomer - went back to CU and got my degree in my mid-40's! Never too old to reinvent yourself. My Edsel burning up in the parking lot at the end of senior year & the best part was that Patti Jubrias and I were ditching school (there was probably someone else with us, like maybe Joyce Holmes.) When I got to choir, Mr. Dalton had the class sing "there'll be a hot time in the old town tonight." Parents not happy - not easy to find a replacement seat for an Edsel! Also, football games, drill team, deafening basketball games in the gym, the cheerleaders doing their fabulous gymnastics down the length of the gym floor. I loved it all - especially my girlfriends - Polly, Judy R, Joyce, Patti, Marla, Anne L. to name just a few! Lastly, being a member of the singing group The Sodbusters - yes we really did exist!! You other members know who you are! Dare I say drinking beer? Going to Coors Brewery with our pathetically obvious fake id's? All the teachers and coaches - sitting next to Candy in Mr. Mahaffey's French class. We weren't that close in high school, but we went to CU together, lived in the same dorm complex and became very close friends for the next 40 years. But how lucky were we all???? 2017-06-05 15:06:08
