CO Married 4 Dave and I got married in 1969. We had four children. Tracy is 37, Matthew is 33 and Justin is 29. Jennifer died of SIDS in 1973. I gave 30 years as a volunteer to the SIDS cause on a national and international level. We have two grandchildren, ages 19 and 16. We've been in Grand Junction since 1978 and love doing just about anything outdoors except when it's over 100 degrees in July. I like to hike with my border collie, Lucy, downhill ski, X-C ski, walk and I do some easy mountain biking. I love to cook (and eat good food with good wine) and love driving my Subaru. I also love to travel to places I've never been. I like quiet scenic places and am not much into big cities, traffic or noise. I spent 23 years in the ski industry doing marketing and PR. I left that position a year ago and have now been talked into doing the marketing and PR for Downtown Grand Junction, though I'm trying to keep it to 25 hours a week. I always have to have something to do and I'm much more organized with lots of things on my plate. Playing with slinkys on the stairs with Burke Robinson, Jim Irwin and Randy Choun during our "planning" sessions (3rd hour, senior year) as student body officers. Somehow that entered into our "planning". Being a letter girl during the state high school football game. That day in the morning was also the SAT test. I really didn't care about that. It was all about the game. And yes, my scores reflected that too. Oh well. 2013-04-06 17:08:01

Hotchkiss CO I still teach swimming lessons - some kind of karmic debt I guess. I study Tai Chi/Kung Fu with at least three classes a week for the past eight years. I must make time for yard and garden, tennis and golf. There are always reasons to take up some political "cause", and some worthy organization that needs volunteers. I moved to Aspen in 1971, with my bright shiny degree in Philosophy from CU. In my 30 years in Aspen/Roaring Fork Valley I held many jobs, teaching & coaching swimming & diving; teaching ballet; 18 years in the ski industry (Marketing, PR, Ski Patrol and Guest Services Mgr.). Upon the death of my second husband, I ended up in Real Estate - YUCK! from there to title work (the comforting land of black & white). I moved to Hotchkiss in 2001, and took some time for me. My current job is very much for fun, at the mail & copy center. It's a jamming little shop doing packing, shipping, presentation reproduction and other fun services. 2013-04-06 16:57:22

Arvada CO 2 Roger and I have been lucky enough to live our married life in Colorado mostly in Arvada. We have a daughter and son and one grandson. We are both retired and fill our time with family, friends and travel. Rog and I are still avid skiers and enjoy all the Colorado mountains. We really haven't decided if we like summer or winter better in the mountains. We enjoy almost any outdoor activity including boating, skiing, hiking, fly fishing, exploring new places and closer to home, watching our grandson play T-ball. I retired from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center as the IT Director of the Barbara Davis Center. Roger retired from Graphic Packaging a subsidiary of Coors as Plant Manager "Seniors Are You Listening!!" I will never forget that voice over the intercom. And of course pep assemblies (that seemed instilled with much more pride and excitement than we see in schools today). Or is that just my age showing?? Going to all the sporting events including tennis, gymnastics, basketball, track and football. Being a part of the first glimmer of girl's sports in schools. Two(to remain anonymous), friends skinny-dipping late at night in a pool in the Applewood area. 2013-04-06 16:56:42

Benton IL Married 1 Enjoying my early retirement days and trying to figure out what's next in my play book. Married one daughter. Since retiring, I spend my time sewing, quilting and soon to start putting the paint brush to canvas, and the pencil to sketch pad. Weekends are for launching the boat and fishing with my best fishing friend, my husband. I spent ten years working medical insurance billing, ten years as co-owner/operator of commerical drapery cleaning company and nine years as third party benefits administration for a Lobbying Association in Sacramento, Ca. Retired in 2000 when my husband transferred to Southern Illinois. That funny smelling 'banana spray' we used in Mr. W.'s art class. Also, 'great 40th reunion' by all who planned and produced a great weekend. Too bad I couldn't remember anyone's faces. 2013-04-06 16:56:07

Erie CO With the closure of the Continental base in Denver, I now have to commute to New York for my job. I enjoy being home and taking care of my yard. I am totally over traveling after this many years of being gone. Divorced from my second husband and have no children. I enjoy entertaining at home. Being around friends and family is very important to me. Love the Denver scene; art, plays and fine dining. My biggest enjoyment is cruising to the southern Caribbean which I've done serveral times and plan to continue doing. Cruising is like a home away from home for 7 to 10 days at a time. You never eat at the wrong restaurant, make a wrong turn and don't have to pack and unpack....your clothes and life just float along with you. Flight attendant with Continental Airlines for 35 years. Also for nine years my sister and I had a cable installation company and worked with the larger cable companies in Denver. After nine years it got bigger then we could handle, so we sold out. How nice to have a normal life back. I am glad we did it but never again. The night I ran away from home and got hung up on Cindy Cooke's back fence in my nightgown.........all because my parents would not let me go out and cruise 16th Street. This is to all of you who hung out at King's Food Host (which was my dad's restaurant) only to wreak havoc. I paid dearly for all this! I was not allowed to be in the restaurant when Officer Moore was there. You all know who you are!! lol The bottom line is I am glad you all had so much fun and my family and myself have had a lot of laughs over all those events that went on at King's. Plus it brought in good money. lol 2013-04-06 16:41:23

Hayden Lake ID My husband and I live in North Idaho and have raised four children. We have nine grandchildren. Two of our children live in Colorado and the other two live in North Idaho. The Betz family gets together for a family reunion every year. This year we're holding it in Dillon, Colorado so it'll be doubly fun to have two reunions. Activities I enjoy are golfing and any sports that include the lake. We live near Coeur d Alene and Hayden Lakes and the water is a big part of our life. I was basically a housewife and helped out at the school. My husband has an architectural business and I assist when he lets me. One of my favorite high school memories is riding horses with Evie (Blewitt) Brau and Sue Brundage. Evie and I were driving around one night in Evie's MG and totally out of character, Evie decided to egg a certain someone's house... We came by the next day to check out the damage and the egg was sitting on the roof and it was whole! It didn't break!!! Did we boil it first? 2013-04-06 16:40:24

Boulder CO 2 I've been retired for 5 years after teaching elementary school for 30 years. I still enjoy living in Boulder even though both sons and a grandson are living out of state. I've been married to Ken for 34 years and he's been retired from teaching.....at WRHS ...for 4 years. I'm sorry I'll miss our reunion due to a preplanned trip and ensuring reservations. Best wishes to all. Thanks to all for the hard work put into organizing a reunion. I still enjoy skiing in the winter and hiking all summer. My favorite part of being retired is the ability to socialize and get together with friends..all the time! Living in Boulder also requires attending all CU football games, many men's and women's basketball games, soccer, etc. I also enjoy theatre events and traveling. Elementary school teacher...I taught grades 1-5 with most of my years in first and second. I always enjoyed the football games and watching the marching band perform. 2013-04-06 16:09:27

Colorado Springs CO 3 I have lived in Colorado Springs since the late 70's when my late husband (Bill Beggs, WRHS class of '66) and I moved here from Fort Collins where he attended Vet School. We had three kids together and were married for almost 27 years when he died. My kids are now 27, 29, and 31. My girls live here, and my son is in Fort Collins, so I see them a lot. I am now remarried to a wonderful man (named Bill!), and I have a great life. I am a retired teacher--I taught elementary school at Wilmore Davis in Wheat Ridge (same school I attended as a kid!),then in Fort Collins, and most recently, here in Colorado Springs. Since my husband and I are both retired, we love to travel, golf, and spend lots of time with our friends and family. We have 4 grandkids, and another on the way, so we do a lot with all of them. I also love to play bridge, read, and hike. A teacher. I also did a lot to help my late husband when he had two Vet practices. The basketball games. The football games. And the barn dances! I wonder how in the world Carole Eckland and I got a hold of the Denver Beer? Seems we drank it in the dirt parking lot next to that Ford dealership on 38th and Wadsworth. I think Joyce Holmes and someone else was with us, too! Carole's ole' Edsel sure got us around!! 2013-04-06 16:09:08

Denver CO One day I'm sitting on my balcony, at home in New Orleans, playing blues guitar, then the next, I'm running away to Jackson, with a laptop, a couple of my better guitars, two cats and a two day change of warm weather clothes. Holly, my wife, and I were just a few hours in front of a great storm. A couple of days later, in Jackson, after the rubble was cleared away, and phone and media started to slowly return, it became clear that driving to Denver may be my best option. So, here I am, back in sunny but frigid Denver. Colorado is lovely, but it's still the artistic/musical wasteland that I left behind several years ago. When I left here, Denver was all about giant SUVs and large multilevel beige tract homes. Now the SUVs are even larger and the tract homes more pervasive. Oh well, here I am, till I can go home again. I studied art and graphic design at CSU, and later at Art Center, and now I am an artist, graphic artist, web designer/programmer, software developer and a musician. I used to teach at the college level, but now I paint and sell oil paintings that are generally large and brightly colored cubist or impressionist landscapes, figurative scenes, or still-life. I also play rock, jazz, bluegrass, blues and classical guitar and have played professionally. My only real hobby is perhaps my interest in Cornish Rex cats and Whippet dogs. I normally have several of this unique breed of cats & one whippet to hang out with. I have been married three times, and I have a son from the first. He lives in Seattle. No grand children yet, and I'm not holding my breath. I own a web design and graphic design company called www.artzdesign.com, and I have painted and played guitar professionally. I was a College instructor for several years. Check out my paintings here - www.richallenstudio.com Most of my high school memories were either irrelevant, or vanquished from memory by college extra curricular. I do remember as a freshman, being stalked by some giant senior, who got his jollies by beating up little people. Wasn't high school wonderful!!! I also remember taking a lot of crap for my car. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that I was the only Wheat Ridge graduate of all time who ever drove a 1959 Simca Aronde (french car) to school. The senior mentioned above, was also a football guy who had to quit in the middle of the season with a broken foot. Hmm, I'm not saying that I had anything to do with that, but if you are going to threaten the occupants of a car, don't stand in front of the car. That would be very dumb. 2013-04-06 16:07:11

I went back to work at Mitchell Elementary in Golden and have been there for twenty years. During the school year I don't have much time for anything but school.
